We did a survey at Carysfort Reef in Feb 2017 to test a new towed camera array. The area surveyed was approximately 170 m x 90 m. Image acquisition took just over 1 hour. You can see the mosaic below in figures 1-4 compared with aerial imagery from Google Earth. To explore the full resolution of the mosaic, open it in a Zoomify viewer. The mosaic was rendered at a spatial resolution of 6 mm / pixel, due to the limitations of outputting images from Matlab (max of about 32,000 pixels on a side). If you open the Zoomify viewer with links to component images and click on the small yellow squares in the mosaic, you can see the actual original frames at full resolution. The mosaic is also available as a JPG file.

Figure 2: Mosaic overlaid as mostly transparent on top of Google Earth imagery of Carysfort Reef. Note the excellent alignment of the two data sets.
Figure 3: Zoom on just the Google Earth imagery of one of the reef spurs. Compare this with Fig 4 or the Zoomify version of the mosaic.
Figure 4: Zoom on just the mosaic for the same area as Figure 3. Note how much more detail there is. See the Zoomify version of the mosaic for even higher resolution.
